It's estimated that 3,000,000 women are living with breast cancer -- and one-third of them don't know it.

A new case of breast cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes.

Breast cancer kills approximately 40,000 people a year, or one every 14 minutes.

No one knows what causes breast cancer, or how it can be prevented, and there is no known cure.

The Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade: Access to Care and Finding a Cure
That's the mission of the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade: provide access to care and find a cure for bresast cancer. Our goals are very clear, and very simple. Our task isn't.

Over the past ten years, the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade has raised more than $250 million for the cause. That money is distributed to five critical areas: breast cancer medical research, clinical care, support services, education, and early detection programs, all with a special focus on the medically underserved.

I am making that commitment to walk 40 miles in less than two days. Why? Because I believe that breast cancer research has made great strides and will continue to do so with the help of additional research. Many family members and friends have had this disease and walking in honor of the fine people who have this disease is important to me.

But in order to participate, I need your help. Would you please consider making a fully tax-deductible pledge to help me meet my goal? Please take a moment to consider how your contribution, no matter how big or small, will save the lives of thousands of American women. Please keep in mind how far I’m walking – and how hard I will have to train between now and September.
